Bread & Butter began life as a trade show, moving from its original Cologne location to Berlin in 2003, where it became one of Europe’s most eye-catching industry events. Since then, digital has completely shaken up the industry, disrupting the status quo, and handing more influence than ever over to consumers.
Following the acquisition of Bread & Butter by Zalando in 2015, what had been a trade show for industry insiders is now a “trend show” for all to experience.
In 2016, for the first time, Bread & Butter opened to the public, breaking the circle of exclusivity, and empowering consumers to personally engage with fashion without guest lists or velvet ropes getting in the way. The goal? In a time when fashion becomes more democratic, we want to reduce barriers and give consumers access to new products first hand.
